In its role as owner and manager of McCormick Place and Navy Pier, MPEA is proud to provide the city of Chicago with Illinois' largest public art collection. At McCormick Place, the South Building collection features a chandelier by world-renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly and a mural of the Chicago skyline by tile artist Harri Aalto, as part of its more than 70 works of art. The West Building collection features 30 Chicago and Illinois- themed pieces of artwork, including the work of respected Chicago artist/sculptor Preston Jackson. The MPEA believes that public buildings should be more than just functional. These acquisitions are provided to inspire visitors as they pass through the hallways.
